7 vs. Wild Season 4: New episode, participants, location

7 vs. Wild is a survival web series in which participants are left in the wild and have to survive there. Seven YouTubers compete in season 4. The season is scheduled to launch on Amazon in fall/winter 2024.

7vs. Wild Season 4: Participants and Location

In the fourth season of “7 vs. Wild” there are no longer any public nominations; the participants were selected internally. The selection of participants covers a wide range of personalities, from survival experts to content creators and streamers. The participants bring different skills and backgrounds, which makes for varied and exciting challenges.

  • The participants of the new season include Joe Vogel, SelfieSandra, Joey Kelly, LetsHugo, Stefan from “Survival Germany”, Flying Uwe and Julia Beautx.
  • The fourth season of “7 vs. Wild” will take place in New Zealand, a region with cold temperatures and twisted seasons that presents a significantly challenging weather situation.
  • The location is in a valley at about 600 meters above sea level, surrounded by mountains, with open spaces, forest landscapes and a river, providing a variety of geographical conditions.
  • Participants are released onto private land, allowing fire-making, hunting, trapping and fishing, and there is a wide variety of emergency animal food as well as edible and poisonous plants.
  • Due to the cold temperatures, possible frost and high humidity, this season is described as the hardest and coldest yet.

What is 7 vs Wild?

Originally, in the survival show 7 vs. Wild, seven participants had to survive seven days alone in the wilderness and complete daily tasks. In season 3, a total of 14 candidates, divided into seven teams, will compete. Due to the new conditions, the season will also last longer, namely two weeks.

  • The third season of the web series takes place in Canada. There, the teams are on their own and have to face the challenges of nature. As soon as one of the candidates gives up or can no longer continue, the whole team is eliminated.
  • There will be no winner in season 3. According to Fritz Meinecke, every team that survives the 14 days in Canada will emerge as the winner of the show.
  • Daily challenges for which points are awarded are no longer part of the show in the third season. The only task of the participants is to survive in the wilderness. This will put more focus on the survival aspect of the show.
  • Thanks to the new concept, participants are no longer isolated and it is increasingly important how well they work together as a team. They must master tasks such as finding food, making fire and building shelters in order to last as long as possible.
  • In season 1, each participant was allowed to take up to seven items with them. In season 2, the number of items depended on the individual skill level. For season 3, each candidate received an outdoor sleeping bag and each team a bottle with a one-liter capacity. Everything that fits in there can go to Canada.
  • Digital devices are not allowed, but teams can decide for themselves what goes into the bottle. The only condition is that it fits in the bottle, the bottle is not deformed by the contents and the lid can be closed.
  • The contestants in the survival series have to report to the production team every day via a dead man's switch and confirm that they are OK. If they don't do this or report an emergency, they will be picked up and eliminated from the show.

When are the new episodes coming?

The episodes will be released gradually on YouTube in November and December 2023, as in previous seasons, and will be available to watch for free. However, Season 3 will be released a little differently than before.

  • Until now, the episodes of 7 vs. Wild were broadcast on the channel of YouTuber Fritz Meinecke. Something is changing here: Since April 2023 there has been the official 7 vs. Wild YouTube channel. The new episodes of the third season are published on this channel. Uncut episodes from season 2 can also be found here.
  • After the second season, Meinecke emphasized that there would be no third season due to financing problems. This has now changed. The reason for this is the main sponsor of the third season: the free streaming service Amazon freevee, which, unlike Amazon Prime, contains advertising.
  • The episodes will be released first on Amazon freevee, probably from October 31, 2023. Only after the premiere on the streaming service will the episodes also appear on YouTube from November 29, 2023.
  • Information and updates on the current season will continue to be published on the YouTube channel Fritz Meinecke – Live. There is also a related “Behind the Scenes” series on David Heinrichs' channel “DAVE”. This is additional video material created during the production of 7 vs. Wild.

These are the teams in 7 vs. Wild in the third season

In the third season, the participants compete in teams of two. The decisive factor here is that the candidates already know each other and can work well together.

  • Fritz Meinecke and Survival Mattin: Survival expert and YouTuber Fritz Meinecke is the organizer of the show and will be back in the third season. His teammate Survival Mattin is also a survival YouTuber and was already part of the first season of 7 vs. Wild.
  • Jens Knossala (Knossi) and Sascha Huber: YouTuber Knossi and streamer Sascha Huber were already part of the second season of 7 vs. Wild. In the third season, they no longer compete as competitors, but as a team.
  • Papaplatte and Reeze: The two Twitch streamers may have little survival experience, but they have already taken a road trip together. They now want to prove their skills as a team in Canada.
  • Trymacs and Rumathara: The two Twitch streamers, who are friends, are also relatively inexperienced when it comes to outdoor and survival. However, they are both sporty and have both competed against other YouTubers in boxing matches.
  • Joey Kelly und Andreas Kieling: Kieling is a German documentary filmmaker whose reports are shown on ZDF, among others. Musician and teammate Joey Kelly is less experienced in the wilderness. His advantage is his fitness. He was the first athlete to complete eight Ironman races in one year, setting a record.
  • Hannah Assil and monkey on bike: The two wildcard candidates form the only female team in the third season. Hannah is a wildlife photographer and has corresponding experience in the wild. She has been running a YouTube channel since the beginning of 2023 and now has over 8,000 subscribers. Behind Affe auf Bike is Ann-Kathrin Bendixen, who documents her motorcycle tours on her YouTube channel with more than 200,000 subscribers.
  • The Sons of Nature: Andreas Schulze and Gerrit Rösel have a joint YouTube channel with more than 470,000 subscribers, where they post outdoor and survival content. Their versatile skills, for example in shelter building, can be of great use to them in 7 vs. Wild.
