The date of birth specified on PayPal can be changed later. However, the matter is by no means settled with just two casual mouse clicks.
Changing your date of birth at PayPal: How it works
If you have created a PayPal account and accidentally entered the wrong date of birth, you can still change it afterwards. However, you will no longer be able to modify the data yourself.
- To correct any incorrect information, you must contact PayPal customer service. Only PayPal employees are permitted to subsequently change customer account data.
- However, the changes are not made on demand. The service employees will ask you to provide proof of this. In this case, this means that it must be an official document.
- In the simplest case, identification is sufficient, for example, using an identity card in your ID card holder, a passport or driving license – documents in which your date of birth is noted accordingly.
- However, it can also happen that this is not enough for the service employees and you also have to present a birth certificate, for example. If you were not yet 18 years old when you opened your PayPal account, the account will usually be blocked.

There are several ways to contact PayPal customer service. However, in order to explain the situation and have the date of birth changed quickly, it is best to discuss the problem in person.
- The PayPal Customer Service can be reached by phone at 0800 723 4570. The PayPal-Hotline is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Alternatively, the payment service also offers you a prepared contact form where you can request to change your data. However, before the data is modified, someone will contact you.
- Of course, you can also contact customer service via your customer account.
