On the Kindle you can delete books that you have already read or simply no longer want.
Delete books from Kindle reader
The storage space on a Kindle Paperwhite is large, but not infinite, and it is easy to lose track of everything, so you may need to delete a few books every now and then to make room for new ones. Here's how to do it:
- Turn on your Kindle and go to the library.
- Find the book you want, e.g. “Consumption – Why we buy what we don't need” by Carl Tillessen and click on the three dots to the right of the title.
- Here you will see the option “Delete book” – tap it and confirm the process.
Remove e-books from the Kindle app
You can delete books from the Kindle app in a similar way:
- Open the Kindle app and locate the book you want to delete.
- Long press the cover and then select “Remove from device”.
- On Mac, go to the “Downloaded Items” tab on the left and click the book with two fingers. Then select “Delete from device”.
Delete Kindle books from the Amazon Cloud
If you have deleted a book on the Kindle, it is still in the archive and can be loaded back onto the device if necessary. You can only permanently delete a book via the “My Kindle” area on Amazon.
- Open the following link and log in with your Amazon account.
- Find the book you want and click “delete” on the right.
- Confirm the query with “Yes, delete permanently”.
