Facebook: Find out your own ID

Quickly finding out your Facebook ID is often useful, especially when you access external tools or plugins.

How to find out your Facebook ID

Your own Facebook ID is an individual number that is assigned to every user of the social network. You can view them directly via your profile without any prior technical knowledge.

  • To do this, open your browser and log in to Facebook.
  • Click on your profile picture in the top right to go to your personal page.
  • In the address bar of your browser you will see a URL that looks something like this: “https://www.facebook.com/username”. If the URL does not contain a username but a long string of numbers, this is already your Facebook ID.
  • If you have a personalized URL, you can click “Edit Profile”. At the bottom of the page you will see your ID.

Facebook: Find your own ID in the source code

If the direct method doesn't work, your profile source code provides a reliable way to find out your Facebook ID.

  • Go to your Facebook profile and right-click on the page. Select Show Page Source or press Ctrl+U.
  • Open the search function with “Ctrl + F” and enter “profile_id”.
  • In the line that is marked you will find a sequence of numbers that represents your personal Facebook ID.
