You can view iCloud files in Finder directly from the sidebar. Just a few clicks are enough to gain access to iCloud content.
View iCloud files on Mac: Use Finder sidebar
You can view the contents of your iCloud via the finder display. This works like this:
- Open Finder on your Mac. Then navigate to Finder sidebarwhich is located on the left side of the window.
- If the sidebar is not visible, activate it using the keyboard shortcut (Control)+(Command)+(S). You can also use this to deactivate the Finder sidebar again.
- In the Finder sidebar you should have the option iCloud see. If not, activate it via the Finder Settingsby ticking iCloud.
- Click on the tab with your mouse iCloud. You will now see all the files and folders that you have stored in your iCloud.
- Notice: In older macOS versions, you can find the contents of your iCloud in the folder Mobile Documents. This is in the folder Librarywhich you can access in Finder by pressing the button (Alt) show.

iCloud files may not appear in Finder. The following Solutions will help you fix the problem:
- Check your system Updates and install this. This also applies to possible ones iCloud updates.
- It can also help if you log in again on your Mac or MacBook with your Apple account log in. Alternatively, restart your system.
