If you can't find the Euro symbol on your keyboard, you can quickly insert it using various keyboard shortcuts.
Euro symbol on the keyboard
On newer devices, the Euro symbol is shown as a subsign on the E key. On an older keyboard you will search in vain for the euro symbol. But there is a simple keyboard shortcut to write the symbol.
- Press and hold the “ALT GR” key (to the right of your spacebar).
- If you now press the “E” key at the same time, you will create the “€” in your text.
ASCII code for the euro symbol
In the area of programming, so-called ASCII codes are used to represent certain special characters. These codes are standardized and you can also use them when writing texts. The code for our € sign is “0128”.
- You hold down the “ALT” key and enter the numbers “0128” on your number pad.
- If you release the “ALT” key, the euro symbol appears. In this way, different symbols can be inserted as long as you know the corresponding number combinations.
Insert € sign in Microsoft Word
In Microsoft Word you can insert a euro sign using the symbol function. If you don't need the € sign in Word but in another text, you can simply select the symbol, right-click to copy it and then paste it somewhere else.
- Click on the “Insert” menu tab.
- Click Symbols and select the Euro sign from the list.
