Excel is one of the most popular spreadsheet calculation programs. However, beginners in particular often find it very difficult to use the program. However, various functions of the program can often be quickly implemented and used with just a few clicks.
- If you want to print out a background image in Excel, there are two different solutions. As a rule, Excel does not print out a background image. However, the image can also be printed out with just a few clicks.
- Insert the figure directly into your spreadsheet using the Insert > Graphic > From File command. Excel then prints them automatically, but the cells in the affected area are often overlaid and may no longer be readable.
- If you store the graphic using the “Format” > “Sheet” > “Background” command, the cells usually remain visible. However, printing is then only possible via the integrated website preview.
Printing out the background in Excel is also possible
In addition to the first solution, you can also use another variant to print out a background image in Excel. This method is usually a little more complicated and therefore often harder to understand for beginners, but it ensures that the background of the table remains readable.
- Click File > Web Page Preview. Excel then starts your Internet browser and displays the table as an HTML document. You can now put this website on paper using the print function of your browser.
- In Excel 2007 and 2010, you insert a background image using the “Page Layout” and “Background” tabs. Here too, the image is not printed, you have to save the table as a web page and then print it out via the browser.
