Photoshop: Flip individual layer

Photoshop: Flip individual layer

In Photoshop, you can flip layers with just a few clicks. This works both horizontally and vertically.

Flip individual layers in Photoshop

To flip a desired layer horizontally or vertically in Photoshop, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the desired layer in the layer overview.
  2. Press (CTRL) + (T). A selection window appears around the layer.
  3. Right-click the layer in the image. At the bottom, select either “Flip Horizontally” or “Flip Vertically”. Then confirm your changes with (Enter).
  4. To undo mirroring a layer, use the Undo command by pressing Ctrl+Z (Windows) or choosing Edit > Undo from the menu. Alternatively, you can revert to a previous pre-mirror state in the History panel if it is still available. If you have already closed the document and reopened it, it is no longer possible to undo it.
