Subnautica 2 is the successor to the ocean survival game from Unknown Worlds Entertainment, announced in February 2024, with a number of new features.
Subnautica 2: New engine and multiplayer mode included
Subnautica 2 was officially announced by Unknown Worlds Entertainment in a blog post on February 8, 2024.
- The setting of the sequel will be a completely new ocean planet The story is set after Subnautica: Below Zero.
- The developer studio is using the Unreal Engine 5 instead of Unity for the sequel. Previous screenshots from the developers show the first creations with the engine.
- You can already discover new Time capsules with the label #PEEPERSRULE in their description. They contain screenshots of the sequel, which were created with the Unreal Engine 5.
- In addition to the Einzel– also a Multiplayer mode for two to four players. According to the developers, Subnautica 2 is “not a game with a multiplayer focus”, but just an alternative way of experiencing it.
- The multiplayer will be interesting for many players, as the first part of the series exclusively had a single player. Only with the Nitrox mod is it possible to explore the sea world together with others.
Subnautica 2: Release no longer in 2024
If you are interested in the successor to Subnautica, you still have to wait a little be patient.
