Many people don't know how long an Amazon delivery takes. Delivery usually takes place approximately two working days after the goods have been dispatched.
How long an Amazon delivery takes: This is what you should know
Amazon is one of the most popular and best-known online retailers worldwide and, compared to other online retailers, usually delivers the goods shipped very quickly. However, there are various factors during delivery, such as the shipping method of the goods, which play a major role in delivery.
- Standard shipping: Your packages are usually delivered after 1-2 working days. If you order in the morning, you can expect delivery within one working day. If you order in the evening, delivery will take two working days.
- Premium shipping: Your order will be delivered the next working day. But the same applies here: If you order too late in the evening, you will have to wait another working day.
- Morning-Express: Here your package will be delivered by 12 p.m. the next day. On the product page you will see the latest deadline you have to order for “Morning Express”. The deadline is usually around 6 p.m.
- Evening-Express: If you order in the morning, delivery via Evening Express is also possible. Your package will then arrive between 6 and 9 p.m.
- Please note: Due to strikes or high capacity utilization, delays may occur in exceptional cases. In addition, other factors such as weather conditions or traffic jams also play a role in delays in delivery.
Ordering from third-party providers – this is what you should know about it
At Amazon you can not only buy goods that are delivered directly via Amazon. Instead, the online retailer also offers goods that are sold by third parties. When purchasing goods from third-party sellers, there are various delivery factors to consider.
- If your order is not delivered directly by Amazon but by a third-party provider, the delivery times mentioned above do not apply. Instead, the terms and conditions of the third party provider apply.
- If an item is not in stock, the delivery time will also be delayed. In addition, various factors such as strikes, traffic jams or weather conditions can have an impact on delivery times.
- Amazon will show you the expected delivery time in your personal Amazon account. You can select the goods and view the delivery period under the “My Orders” tab.
- If you buy goods from a third-party provider, the Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee includes, among other things, timely delivery of the product. However, for the guarantee to apply, the purchase of the goods must have been made via the Amazon website or using Amazon Payments.
- If you have ordered goods from a third-party provider on Amazon and have not received the item on the agreed delivery date or at all, you can apply for the Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee. If you submit a warranty claim, Amazon will contact the third-party provider to resolve the differences by mutual agreement between both parties.
