Bumble: How to change your location

Bumble actually determines your location automatically, but you can also change it with a small detour.

How to change your location on Bumble

On Bumble you can date but also meet platonic friends. In order for people near you to be shown to you, it is important that your location on the flirt platform is correct.

  • Typically, Bumble automatically determines your location using GPS or your internet browser. However, an incorrect location may be displayed if you were traveling and the platform has not yet updated.
  • To set your current location in the browser, go to your profile picture, then Settings and scroll down to “Location”. Update this by clicking on the round arrow.
  • In the Bumble app on iOS you have to go to the device's settings, select “Privacy” and then deactivate the location once under “Location Services”. Restart the iPhone and then turn location back on in the same way.
  • For Android phones, you can restart the phone once if your location is not displayed correctly in the Bumble app. Or you can uninstall Bumble and reinstall it. Also check your smartphone settings to see if location access is allowed for Bumble.

Can you fake your location on Bumble?

If you not only want to see which potential acquaintances are hanging around your city, but also check out other places or hide your real whereabouts, the location can be changed with a few tricks.

  • The paid Bumble Premium offers the so-called travel mode. Here you can change your location manually in the platform settings and simply enter the desired city. The idea is that you can contact new people in the area even before you travel.
  • If you don't want this, you can work with apps that simulate a different location. Install the apps to trick Bumble into thinking you're in a different location and the app will automatically update the “fake” location.
