Cancel or change an Amazon order

Cancel or change an Amazon order

With Amazon you can quickly cancel or change an order. Problems only arise when the order is already in the shipping process.

Change or cancel orders from Amazon

First, you will receive a purchase confirmation from Amazon by email. You can then cancel or change individual items as well as the entire order before the shipping process starts there. The following steps are necessary:

  1. On the Amazon homepage, you must select the “Returns and orders” select with a mouse click.
  2. On the list that opens, you will see all your orders in the last few months. You must make your own cancellation for each individual item in your order. Behind each ordered item there are two buttons “Track delivery” and “View or change order”.
  3. After clicking the button “View or change your order” you come to the order details. There you will see the items you have ordered so far with images and text. You also have the option to change the shipping address there. Select the button there “cancel items” out of.
  4. On the next page Amazon asks the question: “Are you sure you want to cancel this order?“You may voluntarily state the reason for the cancellation. You must then press the new button”Cancel selected items in this order” press.
  5. You will then receive the information for each deleted article: “This order has been canceled. It no longer contains any articles“.
  6. Amazon will also send you a confirmation email for each canceled item.

Cancellation of order from third party sellers

If you order from third-party sellers via Amazon, you only have 30 minutes to cancel an order. You must then contact the retailer directly, but cancellation is no longer guaranteed.

  • If cancellation is no longer possible, you can send the goods back after receipt. Amazon's return guarantee is 30 days.
