To assign a domain to the PC or server, proceed as follows:
- Click on “Start” and go to the “Control Panel”.
- In the top right corner of “Search Control Panel,” type “advanced system settings.”
- Now click on “Advanced system settings” under the general term “System”.
- A window called “System Properties” will now open. From there, navigate to the “Computer Name” tab.
- From there, click on the “Change” button.
- In the Change Computer Name or Domain window, select the More button.
- Now enter the desired name under “Primary DNS Suffix”. Preferably the address of the DNS server so that your PC can log in there.
- Now close each window by clicking “OK”. After that, your DNS suffix is set and you can use it.
