Change WiFi password under Windows

You also need to change your WiFi password in Windows if you have changed the WiFi key on the router. Otherwise a connection is not possible.

View and change the WiFi password

If you have bought a new router, it comes with a predefined password. You should change this and convert it into your own. Then do the same for Windows. However, you will automatically be asked for the new password the next time you try to connect.

  1. Open “Settings”.
  2. Under “Network and Internet” you will find the entry “WLAN”. Select this entry.
  3. Then select “Manage known networks”..
  4. In the next step, click “Don’t Save”.
  5. Then reconnect to the network.
  6. Now enter the new password and confirm it with “OK”.
  7. Reconnect your computer to Wi-Fi.
