You can easily pair your JBL speaker with your mobile phone. We'll explain step by step how to set up the connection quickly and easily and what you can do if it doesn't work straight away.
Pairing JBL box with mobile phone: How to do it via Bluetooth
To connect your JBL speaker to your phone, first turn on the Bluetooth function on your smartphone. We will show you how to do this using the JBL Flip 4 box.
- Press the power button on your speaker. It will now automatically search the surrounding area for a Bluetooth signal to connect to.
- Normally, you will see a window on your phone's display with a drop-down menu for the JBL Flip 4. Tap on the name and your smartphone will connect.
- If you do not see a window, navigate to the Bluetooth settings of your phone and search for available devices for pairing.
- Once you have successfully connected to the speaker, it will noticeable by a sound and is ready for use.
- You can also connect several JBL speakers together. With the Flip 4, for example, you can do this by pressing the JBL Connect+ button on both speakers. You can see this in the screenshot.
Advanced features and troubleshooting
After successfully pairing your JBL Box with your phone, you can use additional features and resolve any issues. Here are some important points to note:
- Download the JBL Portable App down (Android / iOS). This app offers additional control options and functions for your JBL box. You can use it to adjust equalizer settings and perform software updates.
- Use the PartyBoost or Connect+ function to connect multiple JBL speakers together. This function allows you to distribute the sound across multiple speakers and create an even more immersive listening experience
- Pay attention to the Compatibility between different JBL modelsNot all JBL boxes can be paired with each other because they use different connectivity features such as Auracast, PartyBoost or Connect+.
- If you have connection problems, reset the Bluetooth connection. To do this, delete the pairing information on both your phone and the JBL box and repeat the pairing process.
- Keep the firmware of your JBL box up to date. Regular updates can improve performance and add new features. Check the JBL app or official website for available updates.
