Create your own maps with Google Maps: Here's how

If you want to create your own maps with Google Maps, you can do so using the additional My Maps application. You can even share your maps with others.

Google Maps – create your own maps with My Maps

With Google Maps, you can not only navigate through existing maps, but you can also create your own maps. To do this, you need to visit the My Maps page or download the corresponding Android app. Unfortunately, this is not available for the iPhone.

  1. Download the My Maps app to your smartphone and open it.
  2. You can create a new card using the plus symbol.
  3. First give it a name and optionally add a description.
  4. Enter a marker to designate a location for your map.
  5. By tapping additional points you can add other places to your map.
  6. Different levels allow you to separate the stations from each other.
  7. You can then decide whether you want to view your map in satellite view, in the field or as a standard view.
  8. Complete your map with pictures and also use the route planning that you are already used to from Google Maps.
  9. Simply share your cards with friends by forwarding them via the settings.
