You can apply for your desired phone number from various providers. You should know which ones they are and what costs are involved.
Desired phone number for your mobile phone
When you sign a mobile phone contract, you are usually assigned a random mobile phone number. However, some providers also allow you to get a phone number of your choice.
- Symplytel: With Simplytel, you can either select standard phone numbers from a list or request a preferred phone number for a one-off fee of 19.99 euros. This is not possible with prepaid tariffs.
- Germanysim: You also have the option of choosing your preferred phone number at deutschlandsim.de. Just like with Simplytel, there is a one-off charge of 19.99 euros. If you want to keep your number from your last provider, deutschlandsim.de also offers number portability.
- Telekom: Telekom also offers the option of a preferred phone number. However, you will need to contact the service for this as this is not possible online.
- Congstar: At Congstar, you select the number you want for your cell phone from a list of numbers. You cannot enter your own number, but you can update the list as often as you like. There are also gold numbers, which are easy to remember. This option costs a one-off fee of 15 euros.
