Since its introduction in 2023, the Germany ticket in the app has cost 49 euros. From January 1st, 2025 the price will rise to 50 euros.
This is how the Deutschlandticket app works
With the Deutschlandticket app you can order the Deutschlandticket as a subscription. This gives you access to Deutsche Bahn's local and regional transport in second class as well as to all means of public transport such as buses, trams or ferries.
- The Deutschlandticket app from HanseCom GmbH is available free of charge for iOS and Android.
- From January 1st, 2025 you can buy the Deutschlandticket in the app for the price of 58 euros per month (instead of the previous 49 euros per month). You can cancel the subscription monthly.
- In the app you can pay via SEPA direct debit, credit/debit card or prepaid.
- The app willmay not be supported by all transport associations. It is therefore worth taking a look at the homepage. On the other hand, in the case of the Deutschlandticket it is possible to travel beyond the associations.
- As an alternative, you can also use the Deutsche Bahn mobile ticket app instead of the Deutschlandticket app. Participating transport associations also provide apps where you may already have an account and through which you can buy the 58 euro ticket.
Further information about the Germany ticket
The Germany ticket is valid since May 1st, 2023 – from January 1st. the price will be increased to 58 euros.
- The Germany ticket has the same validity as the 9 euro ticket and is therefore attractive to many people as a way to use public transport more and leave their car parked more often.
- The 9 euro ticket was a measure to cushion rising petrol costs. To the regret of many citizens, the ticket was only valid in the months of June, July and August 2022.
- The Deutschlandticket can be canceled monthly. Depending on the transport association, those who have existing subscriptions can have an adjusted price or change their subscription.
- For Intercity and ICE and non-participating associations you still have to take an extra ticket. A rail card is therefore still interesting for some customers.
- Further price adjustments are certainly possible, as a monthly ticket for 58 euros is still less than the monthly tickets of many transport companies and it is therefore questionable whether this ticket is economical.
- On the other hand, local public transport is of course essential for reducing the environmental impact of cars.
- You cannot get into the DB Lounge with the Deutschlandticket. But through all of Germany.
