Dreamlight Valley Monkeys are shy creatures found in the new Eternity Isle region. If you want to feed them, you have to act strategically.
Feeding monkeys in Dreamlight Valley – mastering the approach
Before you can feed a monkey in Dreamlight Valley, you have to get close to it – and that's not always easy. Monkeys in this game react in a special way and require patience and the right approach.
- Hide and seek: If you spot a monkey on Eternity Isle, it will initially run away. This is completely normal. You have to chase the monkey three to four times until it sits down and is ready to be fed.
- Not too hectic: Avoid hectic movements and approach the monkey calmly. Rushing can prolong the approach process because monkeys react sensitively to their surroundings.
- Two feedings for success: To get a monkey as a companion, you must feed it its favorite food at least twice. But be careful: you can only feed each monkey once per day. So it takes at least two to three days to build a friendship.
The key to feeding – monkeys’ favorite foods
The monkeys in Dreamlight Valley have exquisite taste. Their preference for fine dining is reflected in the dishes they like best.
- 5 star dishes: Monkeys have a particular preference for elaborate dishes. They prefer 5-star recipes, with the “Banana Split” being an excellent choice.
- Recipe for the banana split: To make a banana split you need slush ice, a banana, milk, sugar cane and cocoa beans. While you can find the banana and sugar cane at Dazzle Beach, you can harvest cacao beans at Sunlit Plateau and buy the remaining ingredients at Chez Remy.
- Flexibility in feeding: It is possible to feed monkeys also 3 or 4 star meals. But to get the most out of the interaction, always choose a 5-star dish. Feeding high-quality food increases your chances of receiving rewards such as special items or new motifs.
