In the mission “With Great Power,” Merlin gives you the task of exploring a cursed cave in Dreamlight Valley to get the Orb of Power.
Begin quest “With Great Power” in Dreamlight Valley
To start the With Great Power quest in Dreamlight Valley, you must first unlock the Dazzling Beach in the southeast of the game. Merlin then gives you the task of finding the cursed cave, which is located in the northeast of the beach. This cave represents the key to solving the entire mission.
- In the cave you meet Ursula, who asks you for help to escape the cursed cave. In return, she gives you the Crystal Key, which plays an important role in the further course of the mission.
- With the key you are only able to activate a specific device in the mystical grotto in the southwest of the beach.
- Once you have used the Crystal Key at the entrance to the mystical grotto, you can enter it.
- Next, you need to find the Orb of Power, which is hidden deep inside the cave. Before you can reach the ball, however, you have to overcome a few magical gates with a little puzzle skill.
Remove the first magic gate
Inside the mystical grotto you will find the first magical gate, which is closed with a seal.
- To solve this, you must decipher a riddle engraved on a tombstone in front of the gate. It says you're supposed to find the right gemstone that will “continue the hero's quest.”
- Three statues with different colored necklaces stand around the gate: green, blue and red.
- Your task is to place the appropriate gemstones – peridot (green), aquamarine (blue) and garnet (red) – at the respective statues. You can find the gems in the mineral deposits on the dazzling beach, in the peaceful meadow or in the forest of valor.
- Once you match the gems correctly, the seal is removed and the gate opens. The path to the second gate is now clear, but there is still another puzzle that you must solve.
Remove the second magic gate
The second magical gate has another tricky puzzle in store for you. This time you have to show what you can do as a gardener and find the right mix of plants.
- The tombstone indicates three different plants: one underground, one gold and one red. This probably means carrots, wheat and tomatoes, which you need to plant in front of the statues.
- If you don't have the seeds in your inventory yet, you can purchase them from Goofy's stalls.
- Otherwise you can find carrot seeds and wheat seeds on the meadow and tomato seeds on the beach.
- Once the seeds are planted and watered, all you have to do is wait until the plants are ready to harvest. Carrots take 15 minutes, wheat just a minute and tomatoes 25 minutes. When the plants are fully grown, the seal will disappear and you can advance to the third and final gate.
