If you have forgotten your password for the DSL Fritzbox, you can get help with just a few clicks. The problem can be solved quickly.
Forgotten password for DSL Fritzbox: This is what you can do
A Fritzbox has a device and a WLAN password. The device password is important for making settings on the router. The WiFi password, on the other hand, is a password that you can use to connect other devices to the WiFi and the Internet.
- If you have forgotten the device password, you can easily replace it with another password. To do this, however, the push service must be activated in the Fritzbox menu.
- First call up the Fritzbox user interface to activate the service. To do this, enter fritz.box in the address bar and press Enter.
- Then click on “Forgot password”. Have the access link sent to your personal email address. To do this, select the “Send Push Service Mail” option.
- You will then receive an email in your inbox with which you can set up the service. To do this, click on the email and create a password for the Fritzbox user interface.
Reset device password: This is how it works
If you have forgotten the device password and cannot get it back or set a new password, you must reset the Fritzbox to the factory settings. You can then access the user interface again.
- Disconnect the Fritzbox completely from the power supply. Open the Fritzbox user interface in the browser within 10 minutes. To do this, enter fritz.box.
- Below the login, select the “Forgot password” option. Then click on “Restore factory settings”.
- The factory settings will now be loaded. Connect the Frixbox to the power supply again. The Fritzbox will then restart and you can then enter a new password.
Forgotten WiFi password: You can do that now
The WiFi password is on the back of the router. If the sticker can no longer be read, the WiFi password can also be found using another method.
- Enter fritz.box into your Internet browser. Confirm your entry with the Enter key. Then enter the Frixbox device password and confirm your entry again with the Enter key.
- Then select the “WLAN” menu function and then click on “Security”. The current WLAN password is displayed under the term “WLAN network key”.
