Hay Day: How to unlock the reserve
The Wildlife Sanctuary in Hay Day is home to a variety of animals, including elephants, giraffes, walruses, cheetahs, meerkats, hippos, zebras, gorillas, reindeer, and arctic foxes. The sanctuary is located on the outskirts of town in the land fields and becomes accessible to you after you reach level 3.
- To use the reserve in Hay Day, you must first repair the so-called book stand. This will cost you 10,000 coins and take a total of four hours. Only then can you collect the puzzle pieces you are looking for.
- You can then use the puzzle pieces to bring the animals into the reserve. One animal costs you 36 puzzle pieces.
- If you choose a species, you must first build the corresponding house so that the animal can move in. The house for the animal is free and can be used straight away. You will also receive two decorations corresponding to the new animal.
- If you have two sexes of the same species, you can collect and insert additional puzzle pieces for children and create a whole family.
- Puzzle pieces can be found in mysterious red boxes at certain events and as a prize in the Derby. The puzzle pieces can also be found in two boat deliveries per week and in the valley.
How to use the reserve effectively at Hay Day
The benefit of this reserve is to generate experience points, which you can do every twelve hours by waking up and feeding the animals.
- You can wake animals by clicking on the animal directly or by using the whistle. The latter will wake all animals of a species. The whistle is located next to the food for the respective animal.

- Expand the reserve by introducing as wide a variety of animals as possible. A large variety of animals will also benefit you if you want to invite visitors from the city.
