If your iPhone's camera no longer focuses automatically, you have probably turned off the autofocus. We'll explain how to reactivate the autofocus and what other options you have to get your iPhone working again.

iPhone does not focus: turn on autofocus

If the autofocus on your iPhone camera is deactivated, the images can often no longer be focused. Therefore, make sure that the feature is activated:

  1. Open the iPhone camera and find a stationary object.
  2. With one finger, tap the spot on your screen where you want to focus the image.
  3. If your iPhone is working properly, autofocus should now be enabled again.

If your iPhone camera still doesn't work, you have the following options:

  • Turn off your phone and restart it. If it is a temporary error, this will fix the problem.
  • Otherwise, reset your iPhone to factory settings.
  • If that doesn't help, your device's camera is probably defective. In our next article, we'll introduce you to 3 providers who can repair your iPhone.

Once you have got your camera working again, we will explain how you can use an iPhone as a webcam.
