With Telekom MagentaTV you can enjoy films and videos in stream on demand. If the picture stutters during playback or Magenta TV keeps freezing, there are many ways to fix this. We explain how you can get a smooth picture.
MagentaTV keeps freezing – here’s how to proceed
If you notice stuttering on the Entertain VoD service, you can try the following tricks to fix it:
- Pause playback. To do so, simply press the “Play/Pause” button to stop playback. Then press the button again to resume playback.
- Change the channel. Use the remote control to switch to another channel and then return to the original channel.
- Also check the connection between the media receiver and router. If it is wired via LAN, you should make sure that the cable is connected correctly and is intact. The LAN cable must also not be kinked.
- If you have set up the connection via WLAN, you should ensure that the distance between the router and the media receiver is not too great, otherwise the maximum bandwidth cannot be transmitted. You can check on the router whether the WLAN function is switched on. This is symbolized by a light under or next to “WLAN”.
- There may be devices between the router and receiver that can affect the transmission power of the Wi-Fi signal, such as a microwave or cordless phone. Make sure that such sources of interference are temporarily switched off.
- Image disturbances are often caused by defective HDMI cables. Therefore, make sure that the HDMI cable you are using is intact and correctly connected.
- Please note that interference can occur if the HDMI cable is longer than 3 meters. Therefore, connect the TV directly to the receiver.
- If these tips don't help, you can try resetting the receiver. Caution: Please read our note on resetting the receiver first. Turn off the receiver using the power button on the back and wait about 10 seconds before turning the device on again. You will then have to set up the receiver again.
