Make calls with your smartphone via the FRITZBox

Fritzbox: Change password

If you would like to make calls to mobile or landline networks using your smartphone via the Fritzbox, you can do this using the free “Fritz!AppFon” application.

With “Fritz!AppFon” you can make calls from your smartphone to the landline via the Fritzbox

The “Fritz!App Fon” app can only be used as long as you are connected to your home WiFi network. If you are outside this range, the app will no longer work.

  1. Download “Fritz!AppFon” for iOS or Android onto your smartphone. To do this, call up one of the two links and enter the name of the app in the search bar. Select the download button and follow the further download instructions.
  2. Connect your device to WiFi and start the app. You will now be asked for the password for the Fritzbox. If you enter this, your cell phone will automatically be set up as a new telephony device in the Fritzbox.
  3. Now you can get started. You can dial any number from the home screen and call using the green button. The connection is then established via the Fritzbox; you are now making calls via the landline network and not via the mobile network.

Further functions of the “Fritz!FonApp”

The Fritz!Fon app offers you many different advantages. You can use the app according to your individual wishes.

  • At the top of the app you will see the items “Call History”, “Phonebook” and “More”. You can access both your iPhone contacts and your Fritzbox contacts via the phone book.
  • Click “More” to access the Fritzbox web interface. There you can check the WiFi connection, export your iPhone contacts to the Fritzbox or make other settings. In the settings you can, among other things, change your ringtone or suppress your phone number.
  • Even if your cell phone is in standby mode or you are currently using another app, calls are reported and can be accepted. Only Bluetooth devices for making calls are not supported.
