Finding Dragonite in the wild in Pokémon Go is very unlikely. However, you have a better chance in the raid.
Find Dragonite in Pokémon GO
Dragonite is the evolution of Dragonair, which in turn evolves from Dratini. If you don't feel like spending a long time looking for the rare Pokémon, you can evolve Dragonite yourself. To do this, you need 25 Dratini candies for the first evolution and another 100 candies for the second evolution.
- There is also a very small chance of encountering Dragonite in the wild. But you shouldn't get your hopes up too high: Since the dragon Pokémon is one of the rarest pocket monsters in the game, the probability is very low.
- If you still want to search for Dragonite, you should definitely have as high a trainer level as possible. This will allow stronger and rarer Pokémon to appear on your path, and with a bit of luck, Dragonite too.
- You should also focus on sights and landmarks. This is where you will find most dragon Pokémon. Therefore, it can be worthwhile to go hunting, especially in big cities.
- To avoid unnecessarily sore feet, you can use the free Pokémon GO Map to look for areas where the dragon Pokémon has already been spotted.
- It is easier to find a Dratini. If you have one, you can choose it as a buddy and go for a walk with it. You get a candy for every five kilometers you walk. This way you can manage to evolve Dragonite at the same time.
Pokémon GO: Catching Dragonite in Raids
In raids, you can fight against rare and legendary Pokémon for a limited time. If you emerge victorious, you have a chance of getting the corresponding Pokémon. Dragonite can also appear as an opponent.
- Tap the icon with the wild Pokémon in the bottom right and switch to the “Raid” tab. All of the raids currently running in your area will appear there. Here you will either see which Pokémon you can fight or just a large egg will appear. If the latter is the case, wait until the time shown so that the Pokémon behind it is revealed.
- Then run to the arenas shown with Dragonite and start the fight. Now you have to be patient – Raid Pokémon are very strong and difficult to defeat. It's best to compete with several friends. With a remote raid pass, you can even save yourself the trip.
- Once you've defeated Dragonite, you'll receive some Pokéballs that you can use to catch it. The number of Pokéballs varies depending on performance, time, and other bonuses you can get as part of your team.
