To insert the new battery into the Galaxy S5, you need to remove the back cover and take out the old battery.
- First, turn off the device. Wait until the device has shut down completely.
- Turn the smartphone over. There is a small gap at the top left edge of the cover. Use your fingernail to carefully pry the cover upwards and then remove it from the device.
- The back cover is extremely flexible, so you generally don't have to worry about it breaking. However, you should be careful not to overstretch the material.
- Remove the battery by prying it out from the side.
- Then insert the new battery and close the cover.
- You can now switch the device back on with the new battery.
