The Joyn streaming service allows you to access offers from the channels Pro7, Sat 1 and many other TV programs. As a new portal, Joyn is not yet optimally compatible with some devices. We explain here how you can stream Joyn on your TV.
The best way to stream Joyn is with Android TV
Smart TVs have different operating systems. Joyn can be used on some of them without any problems.
- Joyn offers the best compatibility with Smart TVs, preferably with devices that are equipped with the Android TV operating system. This is the case with manufacturers such as Sony, Phillips and Sharp.
- The Samsung Tizen operating system on Samsung Smart TVs also already supports the Joyn app, but only models built from 2017 onwards.
- If you have an older device or one from LG, you will also find the Joyn app in the store, but you will still be redirected to its predecessor “7TV”.
- You can also transfer Joyn to your TV using a streaming stick. Simply plug the stick into the HDMI input of your TV. You can easily access the Joyn app using the Amazon Fire TV Stick or Nvidia Shield.
Stream Joyn on other TV sets
Joyn can also be streamed on Apple TVs or Amazon Fire TV.
- Anyone who owns an Amazon Fire TV can access the service via the Joyn app. The application can be easily downloaded via the television.
- Google Chromecast users can also bring Joyn to their screen using this program.
- Owners of an Apple TV have it a little more difficult. They can load the app onto the TV via Airplay and access Joyn that way.
- Joyn can also be played on a games console such as the Playstation. To do this, download the streaming service from the Playstore.
- If you want to use Joyn without a Smart TV, you can also use your laptop. In this case, you should simply open joyn.de in your browser and connect your laptop to the TV using an HDMI cable.
Stream Joyn on your screen using screen mirroring
The screen mirroring technique is also a good way to watch Joyn on a TV.
- To bring Joyn onto the screen via screen mirroring, you must first activate this function in the TV's home menu.
- Android devices can now connect to the TV using Wi-Fi Direct technology.
- Open Settings on Android, then tap Device Connections and Screen Mirroring. This will start the process automatically.
- The Smart TV should be searched and displayed, otherwise tap “Scan”.
- Now you can open Joyn on your Android device and enjoy it on the big screen.
