- The “media storage” on Android is a database in which certain shortcuts are created. This way, for example, your music app knows where to find the audio files.
- The database is actually rebuilt automatically after deletion. To avoid a worst-case scenario – total data loss – you should back up your Android beforehand.
- Open your smartphone's settings and tap “Applications”.
- Here, select the applications whose cache or data you want to clear. Then select “Storage” and then “Clear cache”.

If the error still appears, other apps are probably responsible for the problem.
- Therefore, delete the data as above for the “Downloads” and “Download Manager” apps. Restart the smartphone as well.
