Rumeysa Gelgi is the tallest woman in the world
She measures 215.16 centimeters, or more than 2.15 meters, and is taller than all other women living on this planet: Rumeysa Gelgi from Turkey stood out at birth on January 1, 1997 with her body length of 59 centimeters.
- Rumeysa now wears shoe size 51 and is well known, not least thanks to the documentary “Rumeysa: Walking Tall”.
- The reason for her enormous height, which made her the tallest teenager in the world in 2014, is Weaver syndrome. In addition to rapid growth, a slight mental disability and characteristic changes in the face are often observed.
- The enormous and rapid growth affects Rumeysa Gelgi, who comes from a small Anatolian town, in her ability to move around. That is why she usually uses a wheelchair or walker.

- Rumeysa Gelgi has a particularly long ear that measures 9.58 centimeters and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. This makes her the woman with the longest ears.
- But even as a baby she set a record: At 59 centimeters long, she was also considered the tallest newborn girl in the world. Incidentally, her mother Safiye Şahin Gelgi is said to have also been born with such an unusual height and thus also holds the record baby title.
- In total, Rumeysa Gelgi holds eight world records in the women's category, all of which relate to her body measurements. Among other things, she also has the longest finger with a length of 11.2 centimeters, the largest hands with the right hand measuring 24.93 centimeters and the left hand measuring 24.26 centimeters, and the longest back of a living woman with 59.9 centimeters.
- By the way, Rumeysa Gelgi is not the tallest woman in the world who ever lived. She came from China. Zeng Jinlian measured 246.3 centimeters, but died in 1982.
