To uninstall McAfee Security Center, you need a separate program. However, the uninstallation itself is very easy to do.

Uninstalling McAfee Security Center with obstacles

Unlike regular programs, you cannot simply uninstall McAfee Security Center. To do this, you need a program published by McAfee.

You can find the required removal program directly on the McAfee website or, for example, on CHIP. Download the program into the folder of your choice.
Make sure that all McAfee windows are closed. This will prevent the uninstallation from being completed.
Open the folder where you downloaded the above file. Now you have to run the file “MCPR.exe” as administrator (right click > “run as administrator”).
Follow the program's instructions (accept license and enter Captcha). The program will then uninstall McAfee Security Center.
Finally, all you have to do is restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Uninstalling McAfee is quite easy with the right software. But there are a few things you should not overlook.

If you uninstall McAfee Security Center, your computer will no longer be protected from viruses and other malware. Therefore, remember to install a new antivirus program such as Avira, Norton Antivirus or AVG AntiVirus as soon as possible.
If you wish, you can also temporarily disable McAfee Security Center instead of completely uninstalling the program. However, keep in mind that your computer will still be unprotected for the duration of the deactivation.
If you have a McAfee subscription, don't forget to cancel it. Otherwise, you will continue to be charged even if you have long since uninstalled the software.
