Wordpress: Duplicate a page - Simple instructions

You can duplicate a WordPress page in just a few steps. Depending on the editor, you may need a plugin to help you do this.

WordPress: How to duplicate a page

WordPress doesn't have a feature that helps you simply copy a page. You need a plugin to make this work.

  • Duplicate Page: Install the plugin to easily copy your pages. Here you can specify how the individual pages are named and who among the users is allowed to copy the pages and who is not.
  • Duplicate Page and Post: Once you have installed the WordPress plugin, you will see “Pages” the function Clone Pages. If you click on it, the plugin will create a copy of the respective page.
  • Yoast Duplicate Page: If you open a page and notice that you want to duplicate it, this plugin is helpful. This way, you can duplicate the page immediately without having to leave it. Here you can also specify what exactly you want to copy.

Duplicate page manually: Instructions

If you don't feel like creating another plugin, use the Gutenberg editor. This way, you can copy the page manually. Please note: Depending on your theme and WordPress builder, such as Elementor, you may have different ways to duplicate a page.

  1. Open the page you want to copy in the Gutenberg editor. You will see three dots in the top right corner. Click on them.
  2. Select here “Copy entire content“. As soon as you see the message “All content has been copied” you can create a new post and share the content via “CTRL + V” to the new page.
