If you register with an account at ARD.de/ID, you can use the numerous offers of the public broadcaster more easily.
Accounts.ARD.de/ID: How to register
If you don't have an account yet, you must first create one. To do this, go to Accounts.ARD.de. There you can choose a user name and password. Once you have an account, you can log in via the same page:
- Open the ARD Mediathek app on your smart TV or streaming stick. This could be the Amazon Fire TV, for example. Log in there with your data. A code consisting of letters and numbers will now appear on your television.
- Now switch to your smartphone or computer and go to the website Accounts.ARD.de/ID. Log in there with your ARD login details.
- Enter the code that you see on the TV into the corresponding field on the website. Once you have entered it, your ARD account will automatically be linked to the TV. From now on, you can easily access all of your favorite content on your TV.
Advantages of the ARD Mediathek
The ARD Mediathek is one of the largest and most diverse online platforms for audiovisual content in Germany:
- It offers access to a wide range of content, including news, documentaries, films, series and cultural programs. It covers almost all genres and is aimed at a wide audience.
- In addition to the current programs, there is also a large archive in which you can find older content. A big advantage here is that the media library is free of charge. Financed by the broadcasting fee, users can access the content without having to pay additional costs or accept advertising.
- The ARD Mediathek also strives to make its content as accessible as possible. Many programs are available with subtitles, which also makes them accessible to people with disabilities.
